Hi, I’m Jo - the photographer behind Little Wild Ones.

I’ve been a professional photographer for over 17 years, and I genuinely still love what I do. Photographing families during pregnancy and the newborn stage is a privilege, and one I never take for granted. These early days are fleeting and emotional, and that’s exactly how I aim to capture them.

I’m married and a mum of two teenagers, which has given me a deep appreciation for just how quickly time passes and how important it is to preserve the moments you’ll want to remember most. Originally from England, I’ve lived in New Zealand for over 25 years and proudly call it home.

Alongside Little Wild Ones, I’m also the founder of a New Zealand-made natural skincare brand created specifically for postpartum mums. This experience has further shaped my understanding of motherhood and the realities of those early weeks, both personally and professionally. I also work with brands through my commercial photography studio, Jo Walker Studio, bringing a strong background in visual storytelling and high-end imagery into every session.

My approach is relaxed, thoughtful, and baby-led, with a focus on creating timeless, natural images that feel honest and meaningful. I want you to feel comfortable, cared for, and confident that your memories are in safe hands.
